ipecac Struggles (User Made stages)

Postby onion on Thu Jul 31, 2008 9:52 pm

hey, I was just wondering if there are any user-made stages that are similar to Awash and this one I made...

http://FantasticContraption.com/?levelId=1731 (*FIXED* thanks, OfficiallyHaphazard and NightStryke for pointing out the blaringly obvious design flaws)

thought it would be a pretty awesome concept, but it doesn't seem like it can be solved in a very timely fashion...

Whoa. that is a big block
As far as level design goes though, it overlaps with the build field, but is partially outside, so it can be moved anywhere. Unfortunately, the goal area isn't big enough: http://FantasticContraption.com/?designId=169002

Even if you manage to push it half way to the right, the right bottom corner will tip down into the goal area and I think you'll be stuck. :(

Yup: http://FantasticContraption.com/?designId=174355

And the goal area space is just too tight to work anything out, since it needs to fit in perfectly.

(Oh, and as you can see the block can still be grabbed if you zoom in and grab the one overlapping pixel.)

damn it! maybe i should have done a bit more testing on this...

i'll tweak it a bit more.

EDIT: there, I've updated the main original post once again with the once again revised version of mammoth. now with 40% more mammothyness!

I completely removed the wall to the right so it doesn't get stuck when it tips over, and the camera starts to wig out because i made the goal area so huge, but once you zoom in it should be fine...

alright...here's another one where you'll need to make another powerhouse contraption. instead of pushing over a titan, you'll need to lift one this time!

I'm trying to find a way to avoid lifting it. If you keep it balanced nicely while knocking it over like this:
http://FantasticContraption.com/?designId=184486
you can keep the goalpiece on the level instead of falling into space. Theoretically, you could then launch it up there somehow.
Maybe.
I have no idea if it's actually possible or not.

I actually suspected that many people would think of doing it that way, which is fine.

brains over brawn! ...but why not have both?
