How to clear your browser cache

Whenever a new version of the game is released, you have to clear your browser cache. Sometimes doing a forced-refresh works (CTRL-F5 in most browsers), but other times you will have to do it manually:

In FireFox3:
- Tools > Clear Private Data
- Select only the "Cache" option
- Click "Clear private data now"

In IE7:
- Tools > Delete Browsing History
- Click "Delete Files"

In IE6:
- Tools > Internet Options
- Click the "General" tab
- Click "Delete Files"

How do you do this on a Mac?

I assume you are using Safari:
- Go to the Safari menu
- Select "Empty Cache..."
- Click "Empty"

In Opera:
- File > Preferences..
- Select "History and cache"
- Click "Empty now" next to "Disk cache"

Any other reason it wouldn't work in ie6?

I tried clearing my browser cache using the instructinos provided for ie6, but it's still not working for me either. any suggestions??

Microsoft's instructions:

A different way to clear your ie6 cache is to go to firefox.com, download the browser, and use that instead. Trust me, you will appreciate it

AARRRGGHHH......!!! Done everything I can think of to clear my cache/delete the temp files. Gonna shut down, reboot, try again.......addicted.....must build contraptions.....SO addicted.....

only problem is I'm at work, and we don't have the authority to install anything on the computers as interns... has anybody found out how to make it work using ie6 yet???

Lame. Such a shame you have to use ie6 :/

They're almost the same as the instructions already posted. But with the added "hold ctrl, click on refresh" method.

I followed the instructions very carefully for the millionth time, and still no luck. I'm starting to think it's a problem with ie6. Has anyone got the updated version to work using ie6??

Okay, I give up.....for now. I've deleted temp files, updated Adobe Flash, restarted computer.....still no luck.

Any more ideas?......and yes, I'm using IE (insert rude noises/snide comments here....)

Okay, I finally got it! You have to hold down the Ctrl and F5 for a long, long time. Then I got the dreaded 404 Error message, got out of there, and voila....I'm up and running.

Off to play now...

Nope, not getting it.

It just started today for me (may not have been on here for a day or two though, maybe it's a punishment for not being addicted enough?). It almost starts, then the dreaded "Hi there, it looks like you're running an old version......" appears.

I cleared the cache using all the instructions, I deleted all temp internet files, and unwanted cookies, manually (while IE wasn't running). I even held down CTRL-F5 for about 30 seconds, all to no avail.

No idea what to try next.

I'm running IE6.0 (stupid work computer with no install rights...)

Anybody got any other (practical, do-able) ideas that might help me?
