As an aside, I ran zhyrek's design on a different computer and it works, although it glitches three different ways to do so . My apologies to Z for the hassle. Now help me make a brown one.

The idea is that that brown slide-a-pult spans the entire remaining clearance space (it can't be made any bigger or else it'll interfere with the rest of the design) and the water weight slowly pulls it off the left side. With a chain of just the right length and enough tweaking, we can make the pult launch the ball back to the upper level right at 850-860 ticks when it rolls past. Apart from that, I'm not sure what other options we have to exploit.

I intentionally made the left design not interfere with the right design. Since the left design is quite a bit easier to make work, you can have the pult be a little bigger than that.
I originally was considering having a monorail bring it back up but it's clear that there's not enough space for that.

I like this. It just needs a way to pull it back up. I hate to say it but I think the only way to do it is to have the catapult reel it back up.

It wins and the pult completely misses the middle tier, but I'm studying how the basket gets pulled up to the top tier and may get both sides to work with a few minor tweaks.

It does. It seems to miss because the basket is too high. I thought about simply adding more chain, but then it seemed that the added weight brought down ALL the chain (and the basket fell too low) :/

i don't think the basket will get anywhere because the ball can drop out of it. i came up with a simple catcher that almost does its job

Fixed the code for the U-Turn longway, it should match up now. After a year and a half, I'm entitled to forget how to do some things properly. :P
