Well, the idea is that the winner if good enough can chain the bonuses through the rounds, so yes he can, however the bonuses aren't necessarily enough to guaranty a victory in the next round.

Also there may not be a (huge) winner bonus every round.

Well, a *good* score is determined relative to the others. A speed comp round winner need not have a *fast* design, but rather a design that's faster than all the others. So, even a score of 9000 ticks on a big level may be a good one!

Remember guys to submit by Saturday night. You can always submit once in case you forget and then resubmit later with a better solve.

Alright, I've decided to give you some taste of the exciting things to come after the deadline at 12:00.
The next two rounds will be a bonus round and then a bloodbath round, pair.
First, the bonus round. This will be a least ticks round where you need to build a fast contraption with a limited number of pieces. (The winner of this current round gets to use 10 more pieces than everyone else) There are no eliminations, but the top THREE will not have to compete in the bloodbath round.
The bonus round is kind of like a practice round for the bloodbath round.
The bloodbath round, which will be the round after the bonus round, is a magnum style round. Your score is calculated by the following equation:
SCORE=TICKSxPIECES
The bloodbath round has no reward, but there will be THREE TWO eliminations. The people who won the bonus round and don't have to participate in the bloodbath round, can, of course, still submit guest solves.

This is getting interesting. I just hope that my current design is good enough to survive this round.

OK, so it looks like there won't be any eliminations again, because people for some reason are not submitting. So, if you submit as quick as you can, maybe you'll stay in, but once I've posted it if you haven't submit your out. I'm posting it right now, but you still have a little bit of time.

CONGRATS WAFFLE! You and the other two winners don't need to participate in the bloodbath round. You can submit guest solves if you want to though.
Since there were no eliminations in the bonus round and I messed up the date earlier, Cruiser40 if you want you can submit for this round if you do it quickly.... (you can't be one of the three winners though)
id_monkey, dmasters and DOINKSTER: Two of you are gonna be eliminated in the bloodbath round! Good Luck!

Edit: Remember that the bloodbath round is magnum scoring! Your score is determined by multiplying the number of pieces you used by the ticks your design takes.

Oh crap. I had the 33rd in my head and thought this was then due on the 3rd.

Oh well.

Here's my 45 piece max solve of 93 ticks:

and here's one with 48 pieces and 90 ticks:

Cruiser, as I said above since there were no eliminations that round and since I messed up the date that if you submit a little late I would count it as on time, you just can't be considered a winner of the bonus round and so you have to participate in this round (which is the bloodbath round), so which one would you like me to add? :)

I realized I never included rules for ties in the OP, so I did so. They are a bit confusing to read, but they are pretty intuitive rules so you don't need to worry about exactly what they say....

This level makes no sense for magnum scoring. It pretty much auto-solves so there's no point in using more than 1 piece :???:
