Level 21 too easy? How about U-loop?

Postby Prof.Awesome on Sun Aug 24, 2008 1:48 am

So, since it seems that people have absolutely no trouble solving the level 21, I have come up with a simple challenge in order to keep you interested in that level.

The challenge:
Create an apparatus which keeps the ball looping through the U-turn continuously. The device itself does not have to move, the looping of the ball is sufficient.

Score:
5p. Capable of infinite loops
4p. Capable of performing multiple (10+) loops, but does fail in it eventually.
3p. Capable of performing at least two loops.

Bonus:
3p. Overcomplicated Contradicts "Uses very few parts" and "Simple design"
2p. Loops in under 15 seconds
2p. Uses very few parts Contradicts "Overcomplicated"
1p. Simple design Contradicts "Overcomplicated"
1p. Clockwise

Maximum: 11 points

Edits:
#1 Added a proper way to count score for your device
#2 Added "Overcomplicated" to allow such solutions compete in scoring, included possible contradictions.

This isn't terribly neat, but it kept going as long as I let it run:

(you need to let it get out over the ledge a bit before it'll start looping)

Here's a nicer one that loops the other way:

Strangely reverse-digestive.

Neat; someone else had this challenge idea too! Here's the one I crafted:

It goes around a lot of times, but it does eventually escape.

for some reason i really enjoyed watching this one, maybe cause of the unique droplette shape and it does seem to go on forever... :aaaaa:

I spent the day failing at this and then I come here and see I was doing it all wrong.

Does it have to go in a circle or can it go back and forth?
EDIT
Does this count? :)
