Well i didnt think anyone would take it SO personal!! Im jus havin fun and theres really NO attitude or arrogants behind it at all!!!!! I dont know how to explain it any other way that its just havin fun and not what u think it is. I say if ur takin it like that then ur WAY to serious about this and need to relax!!!!!!!!! It didn't seem like most of my last post was absorbed, but I for one am not bothered/offended by your "i'm the champ" speeches. It makes it kinda fun to try and beat your designs compared to other more passive people. Though this thread is not about beating the last great design, its about beating all other designs. For example if the same shovel design could beat "Heavy Duty" and "The Sniper" and still take on heavy weights like its designed to I would be mildly impressed. So pick your favorite design and see how many of our 'enemy' designs it will beat and tweak it for the rest. Then you'll get some honest feed back from this thread as to how close you are to Soccer Victor Champ or w/e.

Ironmano, I hope you don't mind, but this is a tweak I did to Heavy Duty.

The retrieval is much faster this way.

El Doo I really like that tweak. I've been looking for a way to beat tanks to the ball and that is a huge speed increase. I re-tweaked the thrower for power now it hits the back wall on the fly. This machine gets tougher to beat every iteration.

I can nearly guarantee with a unified design and no goal blocking allowed making an unbeatable design shouldn't be possible. Making one that can take down 99% of defenders while stopping 99% of attackers and be declared the ultimate champ sounds like a great challenge though. It's all about multiple uses and utility against multiple opponents IMO.

Correct. For every design there is an opposite, or a near opposite that can cancel it out. It's an illusion to think that there is a design that can beat all the others, because such thing does not exist in practical terms, only in theory. Heavy Duty 2 , for example, is an example of a design that seems unbeatable, but this is the maximum that we can ever get: designs that "seem" to be unbeatable. We'll never have the real thing, only approximations.

But it could be possible to come up with a good answer if someone coded a program that would get several designs and cross them into soccer matches and instantly determine who wins the most. It's not that difficult since all that the program has to do is copy paste the objects at the correct positions and simulate the contraptions internally. It would be nice to make a tournament as well, with playoffs and everything else.

If the game designer can implement a copy function, then these challenges (which are very popular) could go a long way.
You could have tournaments, with each player submitting his contraption, then after everyone submit the organizer face them off against each other.
You could have a left / right position versions made, or a contraption inversing function could do it if the designer creates one ;]

Good idea. The inverse (mirror) function is not very hard to do. I made one myself for a small program that I wrote one day. You drag a selection square over the graphic and select "mirror". Only whole parts are mirrored. Nothing happens if you select only a region. Coincidently, it was a drawing tool with line (rods) and circles (wheels) , but it could make ellipses as well.

I for one would love to be able to pull my bots straight into combat with a paste feature. Also nice would be 'peice counters', timers, and a mirror function. That could make for some interesting tournament style challenges for sure.
