It was designed with tight tolerances- the :goalc: was a 38 width ( :upwheel: is 40, so they didn't work hardly anywhere), and the open passages were 39, the closed ones mostly 37. I found a couple of ones like yours that went through corridors that were supposed to be too narrow and tightened up some of the gaps, but I couldn't get anything through the one you used.

Another part of the PITA (besides not being able to test the maze with a :upwheel: ) was that adding pieces seemed to usually mess up what was already working. Like in the last link, if you add just one piece anywhere, it will not work- not even close. I've never seen that before.

wow didn't guess you built it in the editor. did give you a :argh: when I noticed the goal ball was smaller than regular and testing didn't work.

I mighta had a less cheaty solve if it occured to me to double back.

but it also exhibits the level's touchiness. adding a stick for a little boost on the bottom gets the ball jammed on a drop

I later thought a way around this- edit the level, make your own level with the :goalc: moved to the build area- then you could see which passages were big enough. Of course, then you wouldn't have found the cheaty ones.

This is something I've never seen before. It's well known that if you remove pieces and put them back in the exact same place, but in a different order that that will cause complicated designs to not work, but I've never seen a case where adding any piece seemingly totally unaffecting the design causes it to fail. Otherwise, pixie dust wouldn't work. (See above -removing some of the non-essential pieces causes a slight miss- that's normal. But adding a new piece anywhere cause a huge miss. WTF??)
I took your example and kept the same pieces but moved them around and it worked. I had to resize most the pieces, so it's not the mass, but probably the piece order.
