This has nothing much to do with solving Pipe Tribbles, but damn is it powerful.

I miss jofjltn4. That fool could squib two squares if he wanted to.

not sure if we're shooting for a collaborative vibe on this one:

I sorted the original sortball months ago (but it blackholed before I could lift or toss)
definitely needs a diet

http://fantasticcontraption.com/?designId=7438450

And then oozle2 posted up a ridiculously efficient sorter that surely leaves room for a solve:

http://fantasticcontraption.com/?designId=7438643

Both of them would obviously solve v3. C'mon FC2 cut-and-paste.

I can do it with FCML. Getting a design from one level to another is easy

I don't think a brown tube crawler is possible. Since the balls fall faster than the rods that is what makes them grab the wall, but just sticks will all fall at the same rate.

went ahead and recreated oozle2's idea to solve v3.

right, but you could conceivably build something brown in the second build area to push something through the gap at the bottom of the vertical tunnel to catch the ball.

It'd have to be really fast... I wanted to see if I could do a proof of concept... there's not much room there for error.

dropping 1.2 was pretty fun. Lots of back and forth on that one.
