And Lukas - If FC is getting a little old for you, I really recommend (no matter how wierd you think it is) giving the Unconnected movement a chance. I never really liked it either to begin with because I thought it was so limiting. I was wrong! Unconnected solves are so much fun, and the hard ones can make use of some serious creativity. Feel free to stop by Unconnected Shuffle any time and dig threw some old solves or try some of the newer ones. It becomes a game of constructing the things we take for granted in new and innovative ways. Once you get over the "looks wierd" factor, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised at the beauty.

rl-- I really like this release schedule you're running. I think 2 rounds a week w/ 2 levels out at any given time makes a lot of sense. especially given how slow it is around here and how many people are in and out w travel. keeps things moving but also allows plenty of time

and unconnected is fun. but to me it's more because of its imposed limitations than anything innovative. and you gotta incorporate/account for the landscape. lukas might dig it if he gave it a shot.

as rl said, someone should definitely do a comp w/ it (and if no one else does before I get back from my Okie trip mid-month, I will)

Thanks compscure glad you like the schedule, its nice and easy for everybody I think too.

@ lukas, you ought to give powered solves a go, there are a ton of unturned stones in that area. Also, thoose nuggets you chip off the coal face are not sorry, they are pretty dang good I think unconnected is a cool gig, and it is fun to do, but you can't do much with it.

As to the winner, and the runner-up, Im not at all surprised. Not saying thats a good thing.
I guess I forgot that when entering this comp PAUSE FOR A HUGE RANT AGAINST ME TO BEGIN that you guys think something "new" and "creative" is just adding a few pushers and pullers... which is really all it is. I mean, you guys worship people like lukas and hamybal while you can do the exact same thing.. and better? Could be.
I really have always liked Thik's solve because he does amazing things while keeping things pretty dang simple, without adding a bunch of extra rods so designs will be "pretty" and "creative".


That is just rude to lukas and remy, don't be such a spiritkiller dude. That rubbed me the wrong way so to speak.

Now, I'm not taking sides here, but i'd like to just say two things... Take them for what they are worth.

1 - As a member of this unconnected community, I, personally, am still blown away most times I take a look at anything make by lukas, remy, thik, and several others. (edit: Oh, I see the tiny text now)

2 - I consider Remy to be a really good Unconnected designer... So again, they aren't exclusive!


That said, I'm enjoying the bickering. It reminds of Survivor.

I make all types of designs ranging from unconnected to complex powered to MG shuffle-type designs. I think that they are all cool, new, and creative, just in different ways.
I agree with you on the fact that unconnected is rather new and popular, but that doesn't mean that all connected designs aren't new, creative and fun.

You wouldn't like it if you just made a really good and creative solve that you're proud of, and then watch a guy say "THAT ISN'T NEW OR COOL! YOU JUST ADDED A FEW PUSHERS AND PIECES, IT ISN'T NEW"
(Besides, the MGshuffle is going almost as strong as your unconnected shuffle, with about the same amount of followers.)

Regardless, good speed level RLB. I'll have to try a bunch of ideas to see which is fastest.

Hero, sometimes being creative isn't just about using a new type of design. It's also about looking at the situation and coming up with a creative way to make a design that solve the level in an elegent way. Just because something might have been done similarly before in a different level, that doesn't necessarily prevent it from being creative.

Also, it's really annoying, having to keep clicking "quote" so I can read all that small text...
