lukas with the wish, although i was really torn, i liked remy's design a ton too, had to watch them both a couple times took about 5 minutes to decide.

I was under the intention that the qualifier could be green.. oh, and it was TRUELY the least pieces because Sir's wasn't unconnected :P


As to the winner, and the runner-up, Im not at all surprised. Not saying thats a good thing.
I guess I forgot that when entering this comp PAUSE FOR A HUGE RANT AGAINST ME TO BEGIN that you guys think something "new" and "creative" is just adding a few pushers and pullers... which is really all it is.

I mean, you guys worship people like lukas and hamybal while you can do the exact same thing.. and better? Could be.
I really have always liked Thik's solve because he does amazing things while keeping things pretty dang simple, without adding a bunch of extra rods so designs will be "pretty" and "creative".

Just how I feel.

@hero, hero, hero you are so naive you are right you shouldn't be suprised. I did say the design I think is coolest gets the wish, a pretty arbitrary matter at best. but whats better, a few brown sticks, or a work of genius? (its true lukas and remy thoose are pretty special in my opinion:D)

i bet lukas put a lot of time in it and for that only i only worship him already( doenst say other people dindn't work hard)

i may get a little slack from a few judges because of my rep and all and my cute pink name, but i have to keep coming up with the goods here. a little lever here, pull rod there. its all i have left man!!! please dont take that away from me. i've been working this mine for nearly 2 years, in the begining it was bountyful... BAM a new lift, a new mech then nurket, thik, babits, remy, jon etc you see where im coming from. i may once in a while chip a sorry little nugget from the coal face and all i ask is you let me enjoy that small crumb of comfort for it may be my last.

Remy, I have nothing against you and you are an amazing designer in my opinon.

Really, you both are, but I guess I didn't really explain what I meant well enough.

I personally would think your designs were awesome a year ago. That was when the whole idea of those kinds of solves were invented.

Now, though, there is nothing creative, nothing imaginative, nothing truely ipecac. [i]Ouch.. that's cold[i]
But do you know what there IS? Things that are
INSPIRING.

To me its not "who can solve it the best" because everyone can solve it the same.
To me its just "How the flying fish fawk did he do that??!!" when someone solves a level that looks just impossible.

tl;dr Creativity is almost non-existent now-a-days since "new designs" are just rip offs of oldones. WOWing is still alive, though.

EDIT: Hero, quality is debatable. Very debatable You obviously expect everyone to disagree with you. For me, personally, Remy's and Thik's designs, among others have the WOW factor you speak of.

Dean-O, there is no such thing as skill level on this game.

It is as simple as stealing someone else's design and solving a different level with it.
I know, now you are going to say
"Really? Then how do new creative things pop up?"
People simply edit that mechanism they stole.. making it "new".

It all started when Jon/or/Lukas invented the pusher/puller concept.
Then it evolved. Like a chain reaction.

And Lukas - If FC is getting a little old for you, I really recommend (no matter how wierd you think it is) giving the Unconnected movement a chance. I never really liked it either to begin with because I thought it was so limiting. I was wrong! Unconnected solves are so much fun, and the hard ones can make use of some serious creativity. Feel free to stop by Unconnected Shuffle any time and dig threw some old solves or try some of the newer ones. It becomes a game of constructing the things we take for granted in new and innovative ways. Once you get over the "looks wierd" factor, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised at the beauty.
