Confused by forum state

I'm confused by the state of the forum. Obviously a significant amount of threads are missing. However I haven'y found a post from a recognised admin explaining what is happening, what will be done about it and when and whether any of the missing threads can be recovered. If there is such a thread could someone reply with a link to it.

An inxile staff member was hacked and the hacker deleted several threads.
Not hard to guess who it was.

Well I've no idea who it was - either the hacker or the hackee - but I don't care about names. Are the missing threads recoverable? "Best Badgeless" had many hours of work on it and it would be a shame to lose it.

I think so - capitalisation may be slightly different, but I think "Best Badgeless" (not Badgless) is right. Thread started around 2010-03-21 and had a post late on 2010-04-13, it had reached 6 or 7 pages

When I was trying by searching thru Google, the only cache I'd get was of the 6th page of the thread.

Well, you have to just click "show more results from Fantasticcontraption.com" Then if you scroll down, you should be able to see "show all results from Fantasticcontraption.com"
and basically just browse around until you find a link to the cache of page 1.

Judging by the username, I believe that's Mike Newmans's FC account. (He works for inXile and did some of the work on the iPhone of ShapeShape version among other things.)

As for the real hacker, it appears that most people are pointing their fingers at BJ. (I'm not accusing anyone yet and would rather not feed the bored kid...)
