Designs not saving.

Okay, I haven't tried the game for a couple of weeks. I call up the game from my bookmarks at http://fantasticcontraption.com/. I go ahead and log in at the top right corner and the page comes up without the dashboard on the right hand side like it used to. But I figured out to click on "[View your public profile]". Now I click on "Find this user's designs (6606)", and I get my "Designs Created by roxbud1" page. Okay great. Now I open up another tab (window) and copy the URL of my "Designs Created by roxbud1" page. From there, I click on Levels and get the "Browse Levels" page. I then select Average in the "Difficulty:" box and click filter. I then get "Pages (215): 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 ... Next > >|". This part is the same as before, but still a pain in the ♥♥♥ to go through to get to page 50 where I left off in my quest of going through all the average levels. I've asked about this before as to how to get to page 50 or any other page faster, but can't seem to get an answer other that use the search function which doesn't give me pages of levels. So if you can tell me how to get to any given page without having to go through the "Next" button multiple time, that would be nice.

The real problem now comes into play. I finally get to Page 50 scroll down to the game I'm at and go through the on page login again (again, this is a redundant step since I'm already logged in, but whatever). So now I solve the level, get the victory page, click save game, type in my stuff, and the system seems to have done the save. I go to my designs page, click refresh page and what used to happen was I'd see the recently saved game(s) come up at the top and give me the option to publish my solve(s). Not anymore! I can refresh all day, no new solve(s) show up for publication. Even closing out all tabs (windows) of FC and reopening just my designs doesn't show the last saved game(s).

Yes of course, I'm a paid customer and have been for a long time. Please help with at least the saving designs problem and if possible help with the other items I've mentioned too. It would be quite helpful if someone like Weasel could actually call me and maybe discuss some of this with me while I'm on line with the game. I'm retired and home most times, most days. If that is possible, please let me know and I'll be happy to give you my phone #.

Do saved designs show up in the in-game browser but not the FCR profile page?

I'm not sure what you're talking about when you refer to the "in-game browser" or the "FCR profile page". If by "In-game browser" you mean the page you play the game on; as an example http://fantasticcontraption.com/?levelId=532917#; I'll explain. I can click the floppy disk icon symbol and the "Save Design" name and description windows show up as I said. I enter info in both and then click "Save". It comes back with the screen saying "Link" " Anyone who uses this link will ...". So there, it looks like it gets saved. I then go to the "Designs Created by roxbud1" page "http://fantasticcontraption.com/userdesigns?userId=216325", do a refresh page and it should then show my latest saved game at the top where I can opt to publish it or whatever. That isn't happening. That is the problem.

If by the "FCR profile page" you mean in my case: "http://fantasticcontraption.com/user?userId=216325"; where it says "User #216325: roxbud1" on the left and on the right has boxes titled "Information", "Actions", and "My Actions"; no as I explained here too, on this page I click "Find this user's designs (6606)" to get all 6606 of my designs listed, but the just saved game does not show up - again, this is the problem.

If these aren't the pages you're speaking of, please give me URL's and /or more detail as to what you are saying.

Not referring to any page, but rather to the browser that the game has in its flash player. Go to the main menu which lists all of the official FC1 levels, click "My Designs" at the top(inside the flash player still). You should see your designs, including the ones you just created, listed there.

If not, I'll have to look for another cause. If so, then I know the problem is in our webpage code and can find it there.

Hello JaredR26 or anyone who can help. The problem(s) I've mentioned in this post are still there. Is anyone looking into this any further? JaredR26 was nice enough to reply a couple of times, but since yesterday at about 3:30 pm. I see there is a note from zhyrek: "Just a note, but at this moment FC is experiencing technical difficulties". That was at 4:22 yesterday. Surly that's been taken care of?

Anyway, I'm still unable to save designs (the most important thing I mentioned), and until then, I'm not playing because I want to have my designs saved (like everyone else). Someone PLEASE respond with what's happening or at least what's not happening so I know my problem(s) hasn't fallen off the edge of the universe. Thanks

Go to fantasticcontraption.com
First, make sure that you are logged into your account in the flash game and not someone else's
If you are, click My Designs button inside flash game

Are your designs showing up there?

Yes, when I go this route, my designs do show up. I found this out earlier today on my own. It used to be (and I liked it a lot better) that when I was on this page: "http://fantasticcontraption.com/userdesigns?userId=216325", I could do a refresh after saving a game and it would show up here and give the option to publish, delete etc. Now that page does not. So what I'm doing is going to "http://fantasticcontraption.com/", click "Back" then when screen changes, click "My designs" and then publish my saved game; then got to "http://fantasticcontraption.com/userdesigns?userId=216325" and I can see that it's been published and updated. This is several more steps than just being able to do it all on the "http://fantasticcontraption.com/userdesigns?userId=216325" page. Why was it changed? How do I get it back like it was - so much easier? Thanks for replying by the way.

Go to fantasticcontraption.com and look in the top right corner. Are you logged in to the actual site, or only the flash game? If you are logged in to the site, you should see something like "Welcome roxbud1". If you see a place to enter your username and password, do so and check the "http://fantasticcontraption.com/userdesigns?userId=216325" page again.

Thanks for replying portgoose. I'm now able to play and save games which was the big concern. I was in fact logging into the top right hand corner area you are talking about, as well as the flash game. I wasn't familiar with posting saved games through the flash game. Apparently, I must have been the only person doing it through the "My Designs" web page itself. No one seemed to understand what I was talking about. But as I said, I'm now able to see and publish my saved games using the "flash" game page.
If you or anyone else knows a way to get through the thousands of games in the listings i.e. "http://fantasticcontraption.com/levels?difficulty=3&sort=quality&order=DESC&offset=4900" without having to click multiple times to get to; say the 50th page, please enlighten me there and I'll really be a happy camper.

That link that you just posted takes you directly to the 50th page. The last part of the url (offset=4900) tells the webpage where in the list to take you. Since offset=4900 takes you to the 50th page, I'm assuming you can apply this simple formula to get the offset for any page:

To get to page n:
offset=(n-1)*100


Just put that number at the end of that url in the place of 4900 to get to any page you wish.

For example, a link to page 72:

Alright! Hay thanks big time portgoose! I just tried that and it worked perfectly. You're alright! I now have everything working very well. Thanks again.
