Hey Walrus, welcome to the Fantastic Contraption forums! :P
You will find a lot of "nonsense" posts, I agree, such in off topic. But then again they aren't bad, because as a forum and community its fun to play the game and learn from others, but the experience is much better when you find out about the other players and what they're hobbies are and what they like and such. Over all everything's just better when get to know the others here. They are all a good bunch of contraptioneers and nice people ;) :woop:

I'm loving this game and ready to plunk down the :10bux: for the full version. Anyone know how long this will let me play the full version?

Hi, I'm new, and I was wondering: is it worth donating? Are the benefits worth it?

Thanks.

It's worth it. Hands down. Ask ANYONE who has paid for the full version, and you will get the same result.

Hello! I love this game. :perv:  But i dont like to pay :10bux: , because on Sparkworkz is the game, Super Stacker, free. Why do we have to pay :10bux: for a game on IE? :-| cause you can spend it also on a cd-rom with a game, because (aah, typing too much 'because  '.Sorry) it is for the same money, and on a game on cd-rom you get MUCH more things and games and whatever. And i live in West Europe, where they pay with euro's. :sigh:
:aaa:  So:
:10bux: + :cwheel: :woodrod: :goalc: =X
free + :cwheel: :woodrod: :goalc: =yes.
Should we Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease do that?? :(
because im not living inNorth America :canada:
That would be nice. :) :P

jasper: first off: you can play levels other people have created (as of now its around 302,000)
: you dont have to view annoying ads that pop up as the game loads
: you can create your own levels
: and in Euros: conversion(1 Euro=$1.54 American/$1.76 Canadian) so you would be paying a minimum of $6.50 here in N.A....so ask anybody here.....they would telling you the same thing i did

I guess it's about time I'm bowing in. I joined quite some time ago, but didn't know there was a welcome thread. I think I became addicted about twelve seconds into my first puzzle.

I'm almost 66 years old, so I don't know if I will fit in well; I assume I'm well above the average age, even though this game seems the type that attracts "the experienced problem-solver." But I'm what my wife calls a big kid. When two grandkids are in the house, she has to deal with three kids.

Originally, I was hooked on interactive fiction (Zork, Myst series, that kind). Just as I was getting over that, FC came along, without giving me time to brace against it. So here goes another 30 years, if I last that long. I'm amazed at the genius behind this type of game. Good job! :perv:

Welcome (although you joined a while back)!
I never did get the hang of IF, though I was always amazed at the brilliance behind them.

Anyhow, this game has people of all ages (plenty of the younger folk, but also a surprising number of adults- definitely more than most flash games attract). I look forward to seeing some of your contraptions. Have you tried any of the competitions?

No competitions, yet; I think I need to improve more, still.

As far as you seeing my contraptions, I push the "publish this" button when I finish a puzzle. Is there a better way to get you (and the others) to see them? Most are not notable, and after I finish them, I see that others have done a more efficient job. However, I haven't seen anyone make a grabber like mine, as seen in these two puzzles:

http://FantasticContraption.com/?designId=7827504
http://FantasticContraption.com/?designId=7585698

Also, I made expanding scissors. I don’t know if anyone else made those. If you want to see those, I’ll get that number for you, too.

I sometimes go back to a puzzle on “Player Levels” to see how others did it, but they often disappear, sometimes after even five minutes. How do I find them again?

Well, you can either use the search function at the top to find the level again, or you can go to the "Manage my Designs" page, click on the solve that you wish to see the level for, and click "Find Other Solutions" on the bottom right.

I didn't mean to put in the first puzzle, because that grabber can be more simple and still work, as there is a little stick at the mouth that goes around the goal ball because of the intertia of the sticks around it.

I haven't seen a secondary piece which slides down and locks the grabber before--nice job!
