No Saves 4:00-6:00pm PST Today

Looks like FC ran out of hard drive space! We are installing some new drives between 4 and 6PM PST today to make sure the game keeps truckin'. You guys simply save too many levels.

The database will continue to work and you can login and load levels and designs during this time, but we are turning off write access to the DB while we do the changeover. Rating, password changing, or saving levels/designs won't work during this time.

We are hoping to have it started by around 4:15 and have it finished at 4:45, but I put a bit of a buffer on there just to be safe.

Will update when we're done!

I think part of the deal is that deleting a level or design doesn't really delete it. I wipe my clean down to zero every week or two, but links to my old designs and levels on the boards (even from months ago) still work fine.

heh - if anything, deleting a design probably uses MORE space because it probably adds a bit to indicate that its deleted.

Hehe.. Technically the delete bit is always there, but it's "" (null) by default, not "0", which might mean it does indeed take more space to delete things. If only a tiny fraction.

I use gmail mod, google has "unlimited" storage space. Just gmail mod. Google never goes down, so why not do that?
