Who wouldn't want to host a stickied comp?

If a Mod or two would jump in with me on thid idea, we could have unofficial official FC forum comps, instead of the "start when you will, no matter how much else is going on" comps like now.

Now I know your thinking "but i like 2 run my comps ".

Not tring to take it away from you just have it so all the comps that are going will be well put together, and you can't say you don't want to host/compete in a well thought out comp!

Like I said I need a mod or 2 to like this idea before i go further.

I like this idea, we could have a list of people who have hosted well thought out comps in the past and randomly draw a name for who gets to host the stickied comp that week. (And have it list who will becoming up so people will know to get a comp ready.)

I still think this would work well, in fact the way the sgt puts it may be the easiest way, but who gets to decide who gets to host?

i.e. some people made well thought out comps that weren't very popular, as other things were going on.

Maybe best if someone just took submissions of comp ideas and possibly a level or 2 to see an example, that way
anyone could be a host as long as they put a bit of thought into their sticky comp Idea.

Then randomly pull a submission and pm them to start it up.

I think that having a yellow name may just mean you should check your pm's and use "your" board to correlate... :P

I know that I certainly wouldn't mind helping, if is isn't as easy as stated above..

I'm sure a few more of us wouldn't mind either...

I totally agree with the "unofficially official" official competition idea (ack, why do I keep trying to capitalize idea? ). I would help out in any way I could.

I would like to add something to this thread, since at the moment there have been too many badly-hosted competitions. Some of them were bad because they didn't quit stick to your rules, but there needs to be another rule about the scoring system IMO.

So many people have tried to invent their own unique scoring system, often based on Hap scoring or magnum, only to find that it doesn't really work. So if someone is hosting a competition for the first time, they should use a really simple scoring method, like piece count OR ticks, OR ordinary badge scoring. But some people decide that everyone in the past has the badge scoring wrong and that they know better, so they assign their own points to each badge. That's not a good idea. Anyone who wants to host a badge comp should just use the scoring method of JHawk4, ID36 or, to keep things even more simple, old skool Hap scoring.

So if you're reading this and you're thinking of hosting a competition for the first time, don't worry if your competition isn't unique- it really doesn't need to be for people to have fun.

and another thought... whats with all the comps only being won by green solutions.... poor powered wheels..

In the Ipod version the wheels are insane.
with three wheels you can pult stronger than a pult with brown weights.
So unless they change it to be like the ipod version the wheels are just going to be abandoned

Sorry but that's not true. The scoring systems penalize you heavily for using powered wheels. Often a competition level could be done with 1 powered wheel, without the need for any extra power. Why am I even telling you this? Have you not seen a hap scoring system before?
