A humble suggestion for the layout:
Image

the design name is click-able and all the icons are a bit smaller, providing a little more efficiency of the limited space..
I also don't think we even need the email button.. Who really uses microsoft outlook/the default OS email program?

Great idea, I'll make sure Sean sees it.

Is the game still laggy for you or has that been fixed?

Its running very smoothly, faster than it has been in weeks. thanks!

Also, a bug:

Image
I cleared my cookies and tried to view FC to see if there were any problems, there was.
I'm still logged in to the game by the way. Its just that i don't have the "registered" cookie because i haven't done anything that verifies i am actually paid since the time that i cleared my cookies.

This probably resulted from the resizing of the flash that you guys were doing earlier.

I also just noticed that if you drag something too fast it slightly vanishes momentarily.

Don't know if this has been pointed out, but the with this "new" version, the scroll wheel no longer works for zooming in the level editor. It does work in the design editor. **EDIT it is working now.

win x64/Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; en-US; rv:1.9.1.8) Gecko/20100202 Firefox/3.5.8 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729)

as for the sharing icons, i think they are pretty useless. Frankly, if people start tweeting/fb'ing "Hey i made a new design", i will probably have to de-friend them. There is enough noise out there as it is (As I continue to wage war against farm animals or whatever the heck that ridiculous fb game is). A "copy to clipboard" button would be much more useful.

Also, when attempting to drag objects in the design editor, it often seems to select all the LEVEL objects and drag that as a ghost-overed image. Obviously it has no effect when you release the mouse, but it is annoying.

I also just noticed that if you click a share icon on someone else's LEVEL, it says "has just created a new design" or "see my latest Fantastic Contraption at ..."

I edited my post too soon. The scroll functionality is hit or miss.

Sometimes I can scroll, sometimes I can't at all (the scroll wheel just does nothing).

Happened on Firefox 3.6.

Hm, interesting. Any way someone can narrow down exactly what causes this?

I haven't seen it not scroll. If we can identify exactly what triggers it, we can fix it quickly. If the scroll wheel doesn't do anything, does clicking somewhere inside the flash fix it? I.e., maybe it has lost focus?

Well, I was using the game at the time, so it would have had focus.

I'll try to find out what the problem is the next time it happens.

For the Level editor I have been able to repeat by doing this:

Edit a level. Scroll wheel work.
While in editor click "Test". In testing the level, scroll wheel works.
Click "edit" to return to editing level, Scroll wheel no longer works in the Level Editor.

Thanks Jkh, we'll look into this.

Are people having scroll issues in the regular design mode? If so, is anyone able to repeat it and give us steps?

Don't know how much this helps,

but on my mac, I have no scrolling problems on my mac.

Same with my windows.. I didnt have to force refresh or anything..

So I guess I'm just lucky :)

Note: I have 4 windows 7 computers and 1 iMac. Scrolling works fine on all.

Scrolling used to not work on my XP before, but now it does, after all of the fixes.
