Well, with all the smack talk, I hope that you and ID36 are in the top two.

LOL. You know, I will be extremely embarrassed if I end up out of the top 5, because I definitely talked a lot this time around.

FWIW, I will say I put about as much effort into these as I did into Fantastic Contest when I won an ipod touch. I need to prove to myself I can still play with the big boys when I really try.

I think a deciding factor could be how many pieces were used to solve the right side of your level.

I'm just curious to know how we each performed on our own levels.

this was a good comp to have a backstage pass to. I definitely had more fun watching the designs roll in than I would have jockeying for 8th place as a participant.

And how you all did on each other's levels was a chunk of that.

As was this factor, that may have been missed once Cruiser flipped the page on us

[fishing] Does someone have 1st place outright, or is there a tie? [/fishing]

Well I look forward to seeing those solutions from whoever the non-level maker is. With what I have right now, I can only see one possibility for another point but with the time I have left, I'm not even going to attempt it. Locked in and looking forward to the results. Good luck all!

If I had to pick, I'd take JHawk or Bisam. DaWorm and cool-j would be a good darkhorse pick too, IMO

It would be great to finish ahead of JD. I did finish 4th in the Optimal Solutions comp :)

fun fact: for a good chunk of the comp jdel was beating ID36 on ID36's level and ID36 was beating jdel on jdel's level

I just expect to be mid pack as usual... although I see a couple of points left in mine I feel I did pretty good... I felt JDs level was the one toughest to earn the most badges, and feel I prolly completely missed the boat, but maybe everyone had the same trouble as me on that one

With 7 min left, it's safe to make this comment... I really made my level in mind with making the optimal score not be the optimal badge combo... i.e. it would cost more than 2 pieces to earn a clean badge from an optimal non-clean solution. In the end, though, I think every level was optimized by getting the best badge combination possible, then minimizing pieces.

I agree! I may have lost a piece or two overall on your level, and the clean would have cost too many pieces for me and not worth the time in tweaks for me

Wow, nicely done, jdel! Had a feeling that a 2pc on Cruiser's level was possible but never thought about going about it in that way and the 3pc on my level rocked! A well-deserved win there dude!

Let me know if I missed/messed something.

Congrats to jdel, he knocked off two pieces this morning and passed JHawk.

Big ups to JHawk for flying under the radar.

And jdel might have gotten an assist from Cruiser. He asked yesterday if the optimal score had been reached by one player. The only reason the answer was no was because Cruiser had submitted a 2 piece M-Cruiser shortly before. If the answer had been yes, would he have assumed he had the optimal or would he have kept tweaking? We'll never know.

And congrats to Cruiser, the only one to nail a 2 piece and show some home field advantage until the last hours.

Great job by all the masters, both making great levels and playing them. And very nice solves all around. Thank you all for playing. It was fun to host.
