ok, this uses 5 less pieces on the bottom part and flings the ball slightly higher: http://www.fantasticcontraption.com/?designId=11618622
this uses 67 pieces which is about 10 pieces less than my original design. and the ball stays on top of the first ghost object after being flung up but idk if that helps at all: http://www.fantasticcontraption.com/?designId=11618640

and maybe it'll travel up the slanted yellow bar better...idk, but i'll keep trying :P

I want to work on this too. But i'm going to point out that this one looks a bit too hard... The block makes it near impossible with the piece limit =p
