you have two buckets, one which holds 5 gallons and another which 3 gallons.

you know nothing else about these buckets (ie they dont have any measurement markings on them)

you have an unlimited supply of water.

you need exactly 4 gallons of water.

how do you do it?

YOU CALL CHUCK NORRIS!

1. get the 3gal bucket full
2. spill everything to the 5gal bucket
3. get the 3gal bucket full again
4. spill as much water to the 5gal bucket as you can (1 gallon of water left in the 3gal bucket)
5. empty the 5gal bucket
6. spill the remains of the 3gal bucket to the 5gal bucket
7. fill the 3gal bucket
8. spill it to the 5gal bucket
VOILLA!

answer:
1 hour and 20 minutes

question:
you have been sealed in a concrete cube...all sides are 50 feet thick...you have 30 minutes
of air left and the only things in the cube, besides you, are a table and a saw...how do you get out?

I have a similar question (since this one has already been answered), but the only things in the room are a table and a mirror.

You see what you saw, take the saw, smash the table, whatever. Okay. How about a riddle? ;)

You are in a room with two doors.

Behind one door, there is a pot of gold and the only exit from the room.
Behind the other, there is poisonous gas which will kill you the instant you open it.
In front of one door, there is a man who always tells the truth.
In front of the other, there is a man who always lies.
The truth teller can be in front of either door, and same with the liar.
You are to ask one question to one of the men, ensuring that you will go through the door with the pot of gold.
You do not know who tells the truth or who lies before asking a question.

With all that information, what is this one question that you must ask?

Ask "which door would the other man say holds the poisonous gas?"
Then go through the door they both point to

After reading through these I realized how much I miss Jyo :(

Heh. I'm just gonna ask one.

you're in a building with 2 rooms and a long winding hallway in 1950. In the room you're in, there are 3 switches. In the other room, there are 3 light bulbs. You can take as long as you'd like, but you're only allowed to travel through the hallway to check the bulbs one time.

How can you determine which switch operates which light bulb?

Turn on the first switch.
Turn on the second switch after waiting a while.
Turn off the first switch.
Frolic to the other room.

The light bulb that is warm and off connects to the first switch; the light bulb that is on connects to the second switch; the light bulb that isn't warm and is off connects to the third switch.

Yoy're at the store You see something you REALLY want for $97, but you don't have the cash. You borrow $50 dollars each from your mom and dad. You buy the item and get $3 in change. You give a dollar each back to your parents and pocket the other dollar. Now you owe them $49 each. 49+49=98. plus 1 (the dollar in your pocket) is 99. Where is the missing dollar?

It is in your bad maths.

The 97 you spent + the 1 you kept = 98 = what you still owe.
