The Great Extender Comp


There's three rules on solving the levels.

1. The contraption MUST be an extender of some sort (it has to reach from or near the to the in a non-volatile, at least semi stable fashion)
2. One badge will be indicated that MUST be achieved in order to move to the next round.
3. No glitching, black holes are fine (I know they can be unavoidable) as long as they're not used to cheat

The rounds begin/end at 10 A.M. Pacific time every 48 hours.

So your definition of an extender is just that the goal piece must be connected to the contraption? So you could use something like this for example?

Maybe it's just me, but that's not what I think of when I hear 'extender'
Anyways, I'll probably participate, even though I suck at extenders :P

I said "holding" not "attatched to" and in these cases the piece(s) will be in the build area, so you probably will have to hold them in some way. I was going to say "extends to the goal while staying partially in the build area" would that be better?

And thank you for the design but I do already have an example for the first level

Count me in. I've got one good extender, and three ipecac ones that others came up with .

Ken, I would personally advise getting rid of the description in parentheses altogether. Almost all of those of us left understand what an extender is . If for peace of mind you need to say something, I would recommend:

The contraption MUST be an extender of some sort (reaching from at or near the to the (in a non-volatile/at-least-semi-stable fashion)).

Also, keep in mind that some badges (I'm noticing and in particular) are rather difficult to achieve with an extender.

This will be fun.. all my designs and mechanisms are extender based and 48 hours per round sounds great!

Good news, the lag is killing me. I can't get more than 10 tweaks in an entire hour. You guys have an advantage .

Edit: No more advantage. I have a champ that doesn't use side walls .

Okay I'm sorry I ever signed up haha... extenders are beyond me so I'll just sit back and watch this competition unfold. Maybe I'll finally learn something about extenders :P
