Actually, I didn't copy paste anything. The parts where I move an entire frame are just Shift+Clicked (to move a "chunk" of a contraption disconnected from the rest of it).
In the Giant video, I don't copy pieces; rather, I build two identical triangles using the nodes of the wheels, and then delete the wheels.
Like with chemistry. A-->B, but the reaction rate is very slow. I add a catalyst C so that A+C-->B+C, and then remove the catalyst.
Think A =

's and

's that haven't been assembled yet, B = the identical triangles and the catalyst C = the unpowered wheels.
A-->B is ridiculously slow (You'd have to perfect the parallelograms by eyeballing, or by overlapping them--and then you get nasty WTH byproducts if the joints overlap too exactly).
Adding C changes the reaction mechanism, so that A+C-->B+C is faster (connect rods to the nodes, to make a B+C complex, and then remove the C to leave B, the triangles).
In FC1 there really are no copy-paste things like in FC2--the above was just me exploiting stuff.

Cheerio,
{???}
(PS: Sorry I haven't been on in forever, but trust me, I'm not quite dead yet)
