i tried that smooth approach but FC said no, twice. Looking at both of your guys' smooth designs, it looks like it would have only saved about 3 ticks anyway.

Sure would be nice to freeze frame this somehow to see if it was in or not.

The static rect on the bottom goes on "forever" to the left. Usually your design will make the ball hit the outer edge of no return if you're going that way.
