Example situation for the qualifier:

Person A gets a score of 1205
Person B gets a score of 3091
Person C gets a score of 6932
Person D gets a score of 1234
Person E gets a score of 4303
Person F gets a score of 1111

Since the "closest" n^2 number is 4, two people will get eliminated from the qualifier. Since C and E have the highest scores, A B D and F will go on to round one, and continue the tourny.

What is the benefit of forming a team? Can we share our designs with each other?

Each pair of people will be getting a different level to solve than other pairs.

Two brains are better than one, and you should be able to share designs with your teamate.

Yeah a good tip for hosting competitions... entrants are usually interested in seeing the designs.

I had a 1038, but opted not to submit. Would really like to see the best 2 designs. No idea how they did it.

So yesterday I scampered to get in my round 0 submittal (in addition to my previous qual round submittal) only to find it wasn't used in the seeding. I would have moved up one spot. I feel disenfranchised. Probably won't matter since I probably won't have time to submit at all by today's deadline for round b.
