The Last-Two-Letters Game!

Postby carter7 on Sun Feb 03, 2013 8:05 pm

In this game, you must name something that fits in the category given and starts with the last two letters of the previous word. For example, if the topic is "food", then you could say "squash". Then the next person would have to say another food beginning with "sh", for example "shaved ice". Then you could say "cereal", etc.

The object of this game is to continue a round for as long as possible, so try to post something that somebody else could continue with.

No posting twice in a row, no repeats, and no variations of the same word (for example, if one person says "pizza" then another person can't say "cheese pizza").

If nobody can come up with another word, feel free to start another round with an appropriate category!

I'll start us off.

The category is: Mathematical Terms

The first word is: X-Coordinate

Good luck! :science:

I realized my word ended with -on, I was afraid someone was going to start their word with one (someone had already said "one")

"Ions in the air" isn't actually a math term, but okay.

in my opnion, altitude is a math term. im not sure if you were trying to say it wasnt, but in geometry, its the line drawn to represent the height of a shape, usually a triangle

as for "or gate", i dont think that has anything to do with math, so for denominator, ill go with

orthocenter (as in the point in a triangle where all of the altitudes intersect  )

Yes, by altitude I meant height (was thinkin' of triangles.) Next word is probably stretching it, but whatever:

Erdős number

Paul Erdős was a mathematician who did some cool stuff, and your "Erdős number" is... well... click on it. It's Wikipedia.

It's similar to the Small world phenomenon which you probably have heard of.
