this should clear enough space to get a lucky bounce over the right.

Actually, a very lucky bounce is needed. I've launched this thing a few hundred times, and this is the closest I've managed:

Perhaps someone with a different style of tweaking will have better luck?

It actually took three very lucky bounces:

http://www.fantasticcontraption.com/?designId=11950861

The first bounce off the horizontal converts downward inertia to rotational inertia, the second off the backstop reverses the rotation, and the third off the uphill slope uses that rotation to roll uphill just enough to reach the tipping point.

Credits to jdel for the block shift, myself for the launch, jdc for tweaking the launch, and myself for the final tweak (the speck of dust that glances off the wheel used as a backstop for the pult).

On an unrelated note, here is some progress on jdel 602455, based on jdel's original attempt:

http://www.fantasticcontraption.com/?designId=11950863

The second pult is quite difficult to tweak, however. It might be better to just launch the goal block up to knock the goal ball out.

edit: That proved a much better approach:

S: http://www.fantasticcontraption.com/?designId=11951248

Uses a tweaked version of jdel's block pult.

For rianbay812 574085:

I borrowed a trick from jdc ( viewtopic.php?f=5&t=10347&st=0&sk=t&sd=a&start=140#p272773 ) and tweaked mtdewd's design for the cloud:

Here's an exploratory solve on Hero:

http://www.fantasticcontraption.com/?designId=11952925

It uses a connected weight and phases through the top of the static. While we can't get the same weight unconnected, there's a slight possibility that a lucky launch might still make it through. I also tried launching it into the big ball and dropping it in with speed from above, but neither of those appear possible.

Excellent work!

Here's an alternate start (mtdewd's champ solve to the modified level): http://www.fantasticcontraption.com/?designId=11968364

Finally, here's a simple test for jdel's Nimble: http://www.fantasticcontraption.com/?levelId=621426

It's a stretch, but maybe a bunch of tiny sticks could cause the goal ball to "hop" over the static circle?
